PARTICIPATION

  • Organizing to Fight

    • Train rank and file volunteers in talking to coworkers and organizing on-the-job action - these will be our Contract Action Team, born from the immensely successful Escalation Actions Committee and Captains program. Rank and file members should have the same level of access to negotiating topics as any bargaining team member to be effective and nimble on the street as we bargain at the table. This deciding body and can operate as a standing strategy hub before, during, and after negotiations.

    • Rethink work training programs, implement and publish results of our bargaining survey, and hold a TAG-wide member debrief after each contract fight.

  • Removing Barriers to Access

    • You shouldn’t choose between staying informed and staying current on dues: Implement dues hardship programs that lower or even temporarily freeze the cost of dues without having to become an Honorably Withdrawn member.

    • Members are our experts in contract enforcement: Grievances are often filed quietly and without much fanfare. We can make enforcing our contract an easy and accessible way to empower workers by involving more workers in the everyday representation of our issues at work. Grievance committees formed at your workplace can work to document violations of your rights, so that your fight is everyone’s fight.

    • Create a local political office endorsement system for TAG members to get leaders who care about animation worker issues into office, and working hard for our vote.

    • Member-led communications will generate social media and other content from the membership, spearheaded by member creativity.

    • Constitution and By-Laws Committee, which has not met in five years, will re-form and have structured goals and benchmarks for reforming TAG’s Constitution and By-Laws.

    Uplifting Member-Leaders

    • Implementing term limits for our elected officers will usher in fresh perspectives.

    • Hire part-time researchers on a as-needed basis, to keep tabs on strategic company weak points. Prioritize strike experience when hiring.
